In short: Sukkur and upper Sindh are supplied by SEPCO. Net billing applications go through the PITC Net Billing Portal (nmp.pitc.com.pk) with SEPCO selected, and load extension is on the main ENC portal (enc.com.pk).

A south-facing 10 kW system in Sukkur produces about 47 units a day, around 17,200 units a year, with the steadiest output through the year of any city we compared except Quetta. Net billing for a 10 kW system with Solar Net Metering costs Rs 200,000 for SEPCO consumers.

Last updated: 21 September 2026. Based on the PITC Net Billing Portal and its installer guidelines, the ENC portal, the NEPRA (Prosumer) Regulations 2026 and PVGIS solar data. Sources are listed at the end.

Solar production in Sukkur

These are PVGIS long-term averages for Sukkur. The settings were a 10 kW system facing south at a 20-degree tilt, with 14% system losses.

Month Units per day (10 kW) Month Units per day (10 kW)
January 46 July 44
February 50 August 43
March 51 September 46
April 52 October 48
May 50 November 45
June 48 December 44

Sukkur never drops below about 43 units a day in any month. Compared with its neighbours, the monsoon dip is small: August gives about 43 units a day, against about 38 in Hyderabad and about 35 in Karachi. The yearly total of about 17,200 units is roughly 10% more than Lahore. Only Quetta (about 18,500) produces more among the cities we compared.

What steady output means for your bill

Under net billing, units you use yourself save your full tariff, while exported units are credited at a much lower rate, reported at roughly Rs 8 to Rs 11 per unit when the rules started. Sukkur’s even production makes planning easier. A system sized for your typical daytime use gives similar results in most months, with fewer seasons of heavy, low-value export. For a full bill example, see our net metering bill explainer; the calculation works the same way under SEPCO.

How to apply with SEPCO

  1. Check your connection. Net billing needs a three-phase connection and a sanctioned load of at least 5 kW, and the solar system cannot be bigger than your sanctioned load.
  2. Extend your load on enc.com.pk if needed. SEPCO is served directly by the ENC portal, which has an “Extension of Load (Net metering)” section.
  3. Check transformer capacity with “Check Transformer Overloading” on nmp.pitc.com.pk. Solar on a transformer may not exceed 80% of its rating.
  4. Apply for net billing on the PITC portal, as a consumer or through your installer, with SEPCO selected.
  5. Agreement, demand notice and meter. SEPCO signs the agreement, issues the estimate for interconnection and metering, and installs the bidirectional meter after payment. Systems up to 25 kW no longer need NEPRA’s concurrence (S.R.O. 1320(I)/2026); larger systems still need it before billing starts.

Track progress under “Search Application” on the portal, selecting SEPCO and entering your tracking ID, CNIC or reference number. For the rules behind each step, read our complete guide to net billing in Pakistan.

Frequently asked questions

How do I apply for SEPCO net metering?

Apply for net billing on the PITC Net Billing Portal at nmp.pitc.com.pk, with SEPCO selected. Extend your sanctioned load first on enc.com.pk if needed.

How many units does a 10 kW solar system produce in Sukkur?

About 47 units a day on average and about 17,200 units a year, and never less than about 43 units a day in any month, based on PVGIS data.

Does extreme heat damage solar panels?

Heat lowers output while panels are hot, but quality panels are designed for it. Good ventilation under the panels and a shaded location for the inverter help protect performance.

Is net metering still available with SEPCO?

New applications are processed under net billing since 9 February 2026. Existing net metering consumers keep their agreements until they expire.

How much does 10 kW net billing cost with SEPCO?

With Solar Net Metering, net billing for a 10 kW system costs Rs 200,000 for SEPCO consumers.
