In short: Hyderabad and much of lower Sindh are supplied by HESCO. Net billing applications go through the PITC Net Billing Portal (nmp.pitc.com.pk) with HESCO selected, and load extension is on the main ENC portal (enc.com.pk). The application form is the NEPRA schedule available on the portal.

A south-facing 10 kW system in Hyderabad produces about 47 units a day, around 17,100 units a year, with excellent output from October to May. Net billing for a 10 kW system with Solar Net Metering costs Rs 200,000 for HESCO consumers.

Last updated: 21 September 2026. Based on the PITC Net Billing Portal and its installer guidelines, the ENC portal, the NEPRA (Prosumer) Regulations 2026 and PVGIS solar data. Sources are listed at the end.

Solar production in Hyderabad

These are PVGIS long-term averages for Hyderabad. The settings were a 10 kW system facing south at a 20-degree tilt, with 14% system losses.

Month Units per day (10 kW) Month Units per day (10 kW)
January 48 July 40
February 51 August 38
March 52 September 45
April 52 October 48
May 51 November 47
June 46 December 46

Hyderabad’s figures sit between its neighbours. It produces a little more than Karachi (about 17,000 units a year for 10 kW) and a little less than Sukkur (about 17,200). From October to May, output stays between about 46 and 52 units a day, including winter, which northern cities cannot match. The low point is August, at about 38 units a day, during the monsoon.

How to apply with HESCO

  1. Check your connection. Net billing needs a three-phase connection and a sanctioned load of at least 5 kW, and the solar system cannot be bigger than your sanctioned load.
  2. Extend your load on enc.com.pk if needed. HESCO is served directly by the ENC portal, which has an “Extension of Load (Net metering)” section with procedure, conditions, NOC and affidavit documents.
  3. Check the transformer on nmp.pitc.com.pk with “Check Transformer Overloading”. Solar on a transformer may not exceed 80% of its rating.
  4. Get the forms. People often search for a “HESCO net metering application form”. The PITC portal provides downloads of NEPRA’s Schedules II to V, which include the application, and the interconnection agreement between the DISCO and the consumer.
  5. Apply online on the portal, as a consumer or through your installer, with HESCO selected.
  6. Agreement, demand notice and meter. HESCO signs the agreement, issues the estimate for interconnection and metering, and installs the bidirectional meter after payment. Systems up to 25 kW no longer need NEPRA’s concurrence (S.R.O. 1320(I)/2026); larger systems still need it before billing starts.

HESCO meter charges for net billing

The cost of the new bidirectional meter and interconnection is set out in the demand notice HESCO issues for your connection. There is no single fixed figure. Under NEPRA’s rules, the prosumer pays for interconnection facilities up to the connection point, including the metering installation. If the DISCO has no meter available, the consumer may buy one, and the DISCO tests it before installation. Our green meter guide explains the demand notice process in detail; the same NEPRA rules apply to HESCO.
