In short: Faisalabad is supplied by FESCO. Net billing applications go through the PITC Net Billing Portal (nmp.pitc.com.pk) with FESCO selected. Load extension for most FESCO consumers is on fesco.enc.com.pk; consumers of FESCO division 1313 use the PowerSmart app or a customer facilitation centre instead.
A south-facing 10 kW system in Faisalabad produces about 44 units a day, around 16,000 units a year. Net billing for a 10 kW system with Solar Net Metering costs Rs 200,000 for FESCO consumers.

Faisalabad produces slightly more over the year than Lahore (about 15,700 units for 10 kW) and slightly less than Multan (about 16,500). Spring is the peak, with April at about 51 units a day. Output stays steady through the monsoon, at about 41 units a day in July and August, so the summer dip is milder than in Karachi.
Why solar suits Faisalabad’s businesses
Faisalabad is one of Pakistan’s main textile and industrial cities. Mills, power looms, workshops and warehouses use most of their electricity during daylight shifts, exactly when solar produces. Under net billing, every solar unit used on site saves the full tariff, while exported units are credited at a much lower rate. High daytime use therefore makes solar especially valuable for businesses. Our guide to solar for factories explains the industrial rules, including the load flow study required for systems of 250 kW or more, and the one-time NEPRA fee of Rs 1,000 per kW above 25 kW.
How to apply with FESCO
- Check your bill for your sanctioned load and connection type. Net billing needs a three-phase connection and at least 5 kW, and the solar system cannot exceed your sanctioned load.
- Extend your load if needed. The PITC portal directs FESCO consumers to fesco.enc.com.pk. Its notice says consumers of FESCO division 1313 should visit their nearest customer facilitation centre or use the PowerSmart app.
- Check the transformer with the portal’s “Check Transformer Overloading” button. Solar on a transformer may not exceed 80% of its rating.
- Apply on nmp.pitc.com.pk, as a consumer or through your installer, with FESCO selected, and upload your documents.
- Agreement, demand notice and meter. FESCO signs the agreement, issues the estimate for interconnection and metering, and installs the bidirectional meter after you pay. Systems up to 25 kW no longer need NEPRA’s concurrence (S.R.O. 1320(I)/2026); larger systems still need it before billing starts.
NEPRA’s regulations set working-day deadlines for each stage; they are listed in our complete guide to net billing in Pakistan.
Tracking a FESCO net billing application
On the portal, open “Search Application”, select FESCO, and search by tracking ID, CNIC or reference number. The portal notes that applications started on the earlier Step Robotics system continue to be processed and tracked there.
Understanding your FESCO net billing bill
Your bill shows imported and exported units separately. Imports are charged at your FESCO tariff. Exports are credited at the national average energy purchase price, reported at roughly Rs 8 to Rs 11 per unit when net billing started. If the credit is larger than the charge, the difference carries to the next bill or is paid quarterly. For a worked example with the numbers laid out, see our net metering bill explainer; the calculation is the same for FESCO.
