| Date | Petrol (per litre) | Petrol change | Diesel (per litre) | Diesel change |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 October 2026 | Rs 392.76 | no change | Rs 399.64 | no change |
| 3 October 2026 | Rs 392.76 | up Rs 2.10 | Rs 399.64 | up Rs 0.30 |

How daily fuel pricing works
The federal cabinet decided in July 2026, announced on 17 July, that OGRA would set petroleum prices every day instead of the government doing it in fixed rounds. Daily prices are based on the average Platts price over seven working days. The government said the aim is more transparency and prices that follow international markets automatically. A price announced on a Friday can cover the weekend, so the table shows the same price on those days.
What petrol costs per kilometre
At Rs 392.76 per litre, the fuel cost of each kilometre depends on how far your car goes on a litre:
| Car does | Fuel cost per km | 1,000 km a month |
|---|---|---|
| 10 km per litre | Rs 39.3 | Rs 39,280 |
| 12 km per litre | Rs 32.7 | Rs 32,730 |
| 15 km per litre | Rs 26.2 | Rs 26,180 |
An electric car driving the same 1,000 km uses about 160 units of electricity (we plan on 0.16 units per km). At the time-of-use off-peak rate of Rs 34.53 per unit before taxes, that is about Rs 5,500, or about Rs 5.5 per km, and a home solar system that charges the car in the daytime avoids that cost too. This compares running costs only: an electric car costs far more to buy, and public fast chargers charge more per unit than your own meter. Frequently asked questions

On 4 October 2026, petrol is Rs 392.76 per litre and high-speed diesel is Rs 399.64 per litre, according to OGRA’s notified prices.
Who sets petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan?
OGRA sets them. Since July 2026 it does so daily, using the average international Platts price over seven working days.
